1. Pick broad niche (market may be a better term) that you have some interest in & make
sure you can do a lot of back-end promotions. A good market will already have good info products
being published or a lot of decent priced physical products.
2. Set up short, brandable domain. Forget about keyword research for now, you want your
site to grow bigger than a rankable keyword allows, and branding is where the big money is at.
3. Do your research (forums and niche blogs) and create a very short report on a specialized sub
topic of your niche that gives potential customers and subscribers exactly what
they want to know. Insert links and "ads" for your site within the report. Set the price cheap.
4. Build a buyers lists by contacting other list owners in your niche to keep 75% to 100% of the
profits as long as customers are sent to your email list sign up page or find some other way to put
your short report (and therefore sign up page) where the traffic in your niche is (purchase ezine
ads, forum participation, building relationships with prominent niche blog owners, etc).
5. Create a great site - preferably a community - on that brandable domain you
purchased. Collect sign ups for your list here too. As for the site platform I prefer a combination
of a forum and a blog that acts also as a article site with guest posters. Either spend
money outsourcing or use your list (offer them really good prizes for best article of the week or
whatever) to help build your content so your site can become established quickly. You can also
use other people's resources (giveaway and sweepstakes lists, for instance) to get people to help
you fill up your site in whatever way you want them to. As long as something they would really like
is possibly in it for them (remember that only the winner/winners get your prize)
they can come up with some stuff that will be really interesting to your niche.
6. Create more short reports based on what your audience is saying they want to know & sell
it to your list and community at a discount. Use the same marketing method you used for your first
report to find even more new subscribers, which will soon be community members.
7. Expand on those products (using the money from the discount offer made to your list to
outsource, if you want), split test, and then set up an affiliate program. I prefer Clickbank
because quality affiliates will start testing your offer as soon as it hits the marketplace.
Just make sure you convert well and have a quality product before listing it there. You might even
teach your niche list how to earn money promoting these products by sticking it in their signature,
a genuine review on their FB status update, etc (make it easy for them since they're probably not
into marketing).
8. Keep making money from your list & community (sell your creations, promote affiliate
products, ad revenue, affiliate product review pages, etc) and building your list and authority
site/community even bigger, resulting in long term, rising profits.
